Correctional Officer Awarded Disability and Medical Benefits for Long-COVID

A Correctional Officer for the State of Florida was awarded ongoing temporary disability benefits, lifetime medical care, a mobility scooter, lift chair and home modifications due to long-COVID.  The Correctional Officer contracted COVID while at work and became debilitated in the months that followed.  The Correctional Officer was also granted a Line of Duty Disability Pension under the Florida Retirement System (FRS) as a result of long-COVID that rendered him permanently and totally disabled.
